Uhde Inventa-Fischer says it has secured a turnkey contract to build the worldâ€™s first commercial-scale plant for the production of Nofia polyphosphonate (PPhos) flame-retardant polymer, used as a blend component to impart flame retardancy to other host plastics. The company will build the plant at Antwerp for the Belgian subsidiary of FRX Polymers (Chelmsford, MA), using FRXâ€™s proprietary, patented polycondensation process.
