Chemical Week Magazine :: New Construction Projects UOP Supplies Technology For Korea M-Xylene Plant1:46 PM MDT | July 25, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff UOP, a Honeywell subsidiary, says it has been selected by KP Chemical (Seoul) to supply UOP’s MX Sorbex technology, as well as engineering services, equipment, and adsorbent for a plant to produce meta-xylene at Ulsan, Korea. It will be KP’s second MX Sorbex plant, doubling the company’s m-xylene capacity, and is due to start up in late 2007. Capacity figures were not disclosed. The MX Sorbex process produces m-xylene with 99.5% purity for use in the production of purified isophthalic acid, a raw material for polyester resin...
