Technip receives contract for Westlake ethylene expansion

Technip says it has been awarded engineering and procurement contracts by Westlake Chemical to expand and modernize an ethylene plant, including cracking furnaces and the recovery section, at Calvert City, KY. Ethylene capacity will be raised from 450 million lbs/year to 630 million lbs/year, and the facility will use ethane feedstock instead of propane, which is now used.
