TVK begins constructing butadiene plant in Hungary

TVK (Tiszaújváros, Hungary) has begun constructing a 130,000-m.t./year plant for the recovery of butadiene, parent MOL Group (Budapest) has announced. MOL expects to commission the plant in the second quarter of 2015. The recovery plant is the second phase of a 35-billion forint ($159 million) butadiene project that was announced in October 2012. The first phase, the construction of a C4–C5 separator unit in TVK’s olefins plant, is “fairly advanced,” says MOL.
