Stepan plans surfactants, polymer intermediates plant in Louisiana

Stepan says it is carrying out front-end engineering design for a $60–70-million chemical production facility in the industrial corridor of Ascension Parish in Louisiana. The company recently authorized the feasibility work and will make a final investment decision in the second quarter of 2015. Stepan president and CEO Quinn Stepan and Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal announced the project recently. Stepan is in property negotiations for a manufacturing site in Ascension Parish, where it would manufacture intermediate chemicals for Stepan’s worldwide...
