Sinopec Forms Joint Venture to Produce Caprolactam in China

Sinopec says its Sinopec Baling (Yunxi, China) subsidiary has established a joint venture with Zhejiang Hengyi Group (Xiaoshan, China) to manufacture caprolactam at Xiaoshan. The jv is named Zhejiang Baling Hengyi Caprolactam Co. Sinopec Baling and Zhejiang Hengyi are investing a total of Rmb3.6 billion ($567 million) to build a plant that will produce 200,000 m.t./year of caprolactam.
