Sinopec Engineering awarded large contract for Rapid complex

Sinopec Engineering has received a 4.26-billion ringgit ($1.33 billion) contract from PRPC Refinery and Cracker, a Petronas subsidiary, covering engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning for one package of the previously announced Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development (Rapid) project at Pengerang, Malaysia. The total investment in the Rapid project is expected to reach $16 billion. Sinopec Engineering will work with a KNM Group process systems subsidiary, which will act as a subcontractor.
