Chemical Week Magazine :: New Construction Projects Sabic and Sinopec Begin Construction of Polycarbonate Plant in China5:57 AM MDT | April 6, 2012 Sabic and Sinopec say that their Sinopec Sabic Tianjin Petrochemical Co. (SSTPC) 50-50 joint venture at Tianjin, China has broken ground on a previously announced 260,000-m.t./year polycarbonate (PC) plant at Tianjin. The PC project will require a total investment of Rmb11 billion ($1.7 billion). Sabic and Sinopec originally announced the project in May 2011, and it was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC; Beijing) last January.
