SK awarded contract to build ethylene complex in Egypt

SK Engineering & Construction has signed a $3.6-billion contract to build a previously announced petrochemical complex at Ain Sokhna, Egypt. The project is being established by Tahrir Petrochemical, promoted by Carbon Holdings (Cairo), a private development company. SK is the leader of the engineering and construction consortium, which also includes Linde Engineering. The plant will be designed to produce a combined 1.35 million m.t./year of ethylene and polyethylene. Work is expected to start this year with completion planned for early 2019. General Electric...
