SK Gas selects Lummus Catofin technology for PDH plant in Korea

SK Gas (Seoul), South Korea’s largest importer and distributor of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), has signed a deal with Lummus Technology to use Lummus’s Catofin process in a previously announced propane dehydrogenation (PDH) plant planned at Ulsan, South Korea. SK Gas said in January that it plans to invest $890 million in a PDH plant, which is expected onstream in 2016. The unit will be designed to produce 600,000 m.t./year of propylene, possibly using shale gas–based LPG imported from the United States. SK Gas said that it expects revenue...
