QP and Qapco to Build Petrochemical Complex at Ras Laffan

Al Mohannadi: Project targets Asian, Latin American demand. Qatar Petroleum (QP; Doha) and Qatar Petrochemical Co (Qapco; Doha) have reached an agreement to build an integrated petrochemical complex at Ras Laffan, Qatar. QP told CW late last year that it was evaluating separate proposals from Qapco and Chevron Phillips Chemical (CP Chem) for the project (CW, Dec. 19/26, 2011, p. 7).
