Petron Refinery to Maximize Propylene Ouptut

Petron Corp. (Manila) has selected Axens to supply technologies for the Bataan Refinery upgrade 2 project at Bataan, the Philippines. The project aims to enable the refinery to process heavier crude to produce higher-quality products including propylene. Axens will supply its mild hydrocracker technology for a 15,700-bbl/day unit to process heavy coker gas oil which, after mixing with straight-run vacuum gasoil, will produce a moderate sulfur feedstock for a fluid catalytic cracker (FCC) unit with capacity for 35,900 bbl/day.
