Chemical Week Magazine :: New Construction Projects Petrokemya Cancels Expansion Plans in Saudi Arabia10:42 AM MDT | August 28, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Petrokemya, a Sabic subsidiary, has terminated a contract with Stone & Webster (S&W) to revamp Petrokemya’s No. 1 ethylene plant at Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia and has cancelled plans to revamp the company’s No. 3 cracker, sources say (CW, June 14, 2006, p. 16). Petrokemya planned to add about 20% capacity at the No. 1 cracker, which has capacity for 800,000 m.t./year of ethylene and was originally supplied by CF Braun, and to double capacity of the 800,000-m.t./year No. 3 cracker, which was built by S&W.
