PKN Orlen builds on-purpose propylene unit in Poland

PKN Orlen, Poland’s largest petrochemicals player, is building a metathesis unit at its Płock, Poland, manufacturing complex. The company has awarded a license and engineering design contract to CB&I to use CB&I’s olefins conversion technology to produce 100,000 m.t./year of polymer-grade propylene to meet internal needs. Feedstock for the unit will be sourced from PKN’s facilities at the Płock site.
