Chemical Week Magazine :: New Construction Projects Nippon Shokubai to Expand Superabsorbents Capacity in China6:02 AM MST | February 17, 2012 Nippon Shokubai has approved plans by its Nisshoku Chemical Industry (NCI; Zhangjiagang, China) subsidiary to expand superabsorbent polymers capacity at Zhangjiagang. A new superabsorbent polymers plant with a capacity of 30,000 m.t./year will be built, doubling the site’s existing capacity. Mechanical completion of the new plant is expected in March 2014, and commercial operation will begin in July 2014. The investment sum is estimated at about $56 million.
