Mitsui & Co and Mitsui Chemicals plan to establish a nitrogen fertilizer production joint venture in Brunei with Brunei’s state-run petroleum company and the firms will market output from the complex in Southeast Asia, says the Brunei Economic and Development Board (BEDB; Bandar Seri Begawan). The project will require an investment of about ¥230 billion ($3 billion) and initially comprise plants with capacity for 850,000 m.t./year of ammonia and 600,000 m.t./year of urea.
