Methanex to Build DME JV Plant in Egypt

Methanex says it has signed a memorandum of understanding to build a 200,000-m.t./year dimethyl ether (DME) plant with joint venture partner XinAo Group (Langfang, China) at Damietta, Egypt. The plant will be adjacent to Methanex’s 1.3-million m.t./year methanol plant, which is currently under construction (CW, May 9, p. 51). State-owned Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Co.
