Lummus to Supply Metathesis Unit to Mitsubishi Chemical

ABB Lummus Global says it has been selected by Mitsubishi Chemical to provide technology for a planned olefins-conversion unit at Kashima, Japan. The metathesis-process plant will make propylene by reacting butene and ethylene. Completion is scheduled for the end of 2008. The unit will raise Mitsubishi’s propylene capacity at Kashima by about 150,000 m.t./year.
