Chemical Week Magazine :: New Construction Projects Kuwaiti Firm Plans Major PTA-PET Complex at Jubail8:39 AM MST | January 6, 2012 Qurain Petrochemical Industries (Kuwait City) is planning to build a $1-billion integrated polyethylene terephthalate (PET) resins complex at Jubail, Saudi Arabia. It will be designed to make 1 million m.t./year of purified terephthalic acid (PTA) and 800,000 m.t./year of PET. The company will source para-xylene feedstock from a nearby refinery, Sheikh Mubarak Abdullah Al Mubarak Al Sabah, chairman of Qurain says.
