Kao to Expand Surfactants Capacity in Indonesia with New Plant

Kao Corp. (Tokyo) says that its Kao Indonesia Chemicals (Bekasi, Indonesia) subsidiary will construct a plant for the production of surfactants at the Karawan International Industry City (KIIC), located in the suburbs of Jakarta. The new surfactants plant, which is expected to start operating next year, will increase Kao Indonesia Chemicals’ surfactant capacity by about 50%. The initial investment will be about ¥4 billion ($50 million). Kao Indonesia Chemicals is also transferring its entire production base from Tambun, also a suburb of Jakarta, to KIIC. The...
