Jayant, Mitsui Chemicals, and Itoh Oil detail biopolyols JV in India

Jayant Agro-Organics (Mumbai), Mitsui Chemicals, and Itoh Oil Chemical (Yokkaichi, Japan) have provided more details about their proposed biopolyols joint venture, which was exclusively announced in CW (Sept 2/9, p. 59). The jv, Vithal Castor Polyols, plans to build an 8,000-m.t./year biopolyols plant in the Indian state of Gujarat by January 2015. The plant will use castor oil as feedstock. Jayant will own 50% in Vithal Castor Polyols, Mitsui will have 40%, and Itoh will hold 10%. Mitsui says it is the largest supplier of polyurethane raw materials for...
