Jacobs awarded contract for ExxonMobil’s Texas petchem plants

Jacobs Engineering says it has been awarded a contract by ExxonMobil Chemical to provide engineering, procurement, and construction services as part of a multibillion-dollar ethane cracker project at Baytown and Mont Belvieu, TX. Jacobs’ work includes preparing sites of 350 acres for the cracker at Baytown and 100 acres for the downstream facilities at Mont Belvieu. Jacobs is also interconnecting the two sites by integrating the new plants into ExxonMobil’s existing facilities. The new cracker at Baytown will have capacity for 1.5 million m.t./year of...
