Ineos, Sinopec sign JV agreement for phenol-acetone plant in China

Ineos Phenol and Sinopec Yangzi Petrochemical (Sinopec YPC) have signed a joint venture agreement and articles of association to form a 50-50 jv company at Nanjing, China, for the companies’ previously announced phenol acetone project. The jv, Ineos YPC Phenol Nanjing, will build the largest phenol acetone plant in China, at the Nanjing Chemical Industrial Park. The project will involve a total investment of $500 million, and the plant is expected to be operational by the end of 2016.
