Ineos Plans Major Upgrade at European PP and HDPE Plants

Ineos Polyolefins, an Ineos subsidiary, says it plans to invest more than €150 million ($194 million) over the next three years to expand and upgrade its capacity in Europe. The program also involves closing some capacity. Ineos will expand polypropylene (PP) capacity at Geel, Belgium by 220,000 m.t./year, to 500,000 m.t./year, and increase PP capacity at Grangemouth, U.K. by 30,000 m.t./year, to 280,000 m.t./year.
