Indonesia Builds Large Ammonia-Urea Production Plant

PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur (Kaltim; Bontang, Indonesia), a state-owned company, will build a nitrogen fertilizer complex at Bontang in the province of East Kalimantan. It will have capacity for 2,700 m.t./day of ammonia and 3,500 m.t./day of urea with completion scheduled for the end of 2013. Kaltim has awarded a $577-million turnkey contract to Toyo Engineering covering technology, engineering, procurement of equipment and materials, construction, and commissioning.
