Chemical Week Magazine :: New Construction Projects GSK Builds Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing Facility in the U.K.5:57 AM MDT | April 6, 2012 GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) has confirmed plans, originally outlined in 2010, to invest more than £500 million ($799 million) in R&D and manufacturing in the U.K. GSK will invest £350 million of the total to build a biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility at the company’s Ulverston site. It will be the first new manufacturing plant to be built by GSK in the U.K. for 40 years.
