The facility will be designed to produce 750,000 m.t./year of polymer-grade propylene, making it the largest stand-alone propane dehydro unit when it begins operations in the third quarter of 2015. It will utilize growing supplies of U.S.-produced propane. The Catofin process was developed by Lummus together with Clariant’s subsidiary Süd-Chemie, which supplies catalysts for the process.
