Dow and Solvay Proceed with Thai HPPO Plans

Dow Chemical and Solvay have agreed to form an equally owned joint venture to build a hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) plant at the Asian Industrial Estate, near Map Ta Phut, Thailand. The 330,000-m.t./year unit will use Solvay’s high-yield technology and is due to be completed in 2010. It will supply feedstock to a previously announced propylene oxide (PO) complex, which Dow and BASF will build at the same site in Thailand.
