Dow Chemical and Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayii (Istanbul) have signed a definitve agreement to form a previously announced joint venture to manufacture carbon fiber and derivatives. Dow and Aksa will each hold a 50% stake in the jv, under the terms of the agreement. Total investment in the project, including from third parties, is expected to be $1 billion within five years.
