Dow Boosts Polyols, Propylene Glycol Capacity

Dow Chemical says it will increase polyols and propylene glycol (PG) capacity in Europe over the next two years. It will raise polyols capacity at Terneuzen, the Netherlands by 180,000 m.t./year. Propylene oxide sourced from a hydrogen peroxide-to-propylene oxide plant under construction at Antwerp in a joint venture between Dow and BASF will provide feedstock for the additional polyols capacity. Dow will also increase PG capacity by 80,000 m.t./year at Stade, Germany. The first phase of the project was completed this year, increasing PG capacity from 190,000...
