Chemical Week Magazine :: New Construction Projects Chevron Phillips Chemical Studies Petchems Complex in Iraq7:39 AM MDT | June 15, 2012 Chevron Phillips Chemical (CPChem) has signed a letter of intent to develop an integrated petrochemical complex in Basra Province, Iraq, Hanaa Al Husseini, spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry and Minerals (Baghdad) says. CPChem will evaluate plans to build a new petchems complex and upgrade an existing one, Al Husseini says. Further details were not disclosed. Shell Chemicals announced late last year that it had agreed to study a petchem project in the Basra area. Royal Dutch Shell earlier signed a $16-billion deal in Iraq to rehabilitate the off-gas...
