Belarus and China agree to form soda ash venture

Belarus and China have agreed to form a joint venture to construct a soda ash plant in Belarus, says Anatoly Nichkasov, Belarus’s minister of architecture and construction. The plant would be the first soda ash facility in Belarus. The decision was made during an official visit to China by the president of Belarus, Nichkasov says. “In 2010, we signed a contractual arrangement and a loan agreement with China’s export-import bank … but the project was not launched because of a number of issues, which have now been resolved.” A plant to produce soda ash...
