Bayer holds groundbreaking ceremony for HDI plant at Shanghai…

Bayer MaterialScience broke ground recently on a second hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI) plant at Shanghai. The company first announced the project in 2011. The plant, with capacity for 50,000 m.t./year, will be one of the largest HDI facilities in the world. It will supply the growing demands of the coatings and adhesives industries, which supply the automotive, construction, textile, and shoe industries. Completion is scheduled for 2016.
