BASF to Expand MDI Facility in Korea; Awards China Contracts

BASF will raise capacity for methylene di- para -phenylene isocyanate (MDI) at its Yeosu, Korea site. The expansion will take place in 2011-12 with most of the work carried out during the plant’s annual maintenance turnaround, which is scheduled for April-May 2012. BASF and other producers at the Yeosu complex, which also need to expand their facilities, will invest a combined won80 billion ($73.7 million) at the site.
