BASF breaks ground on electrocoat plant at Shanghai

BASF has broken ground on a resin and electrocoat (e-coat) plant at the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park at Caojing, China. The plant is scheduled to start up in the second half of 2015. The unit will help to meet increasing demand for high-quality coatings in various growing industries, notably automotive, in Asia/Pacific, BASF says. The resin and e-coat plant will be adjacent to a BASF automotive coatings unit that will start operations this quarter.
