BASF and Sinopec complete study for INA plant in China

BASF and Sinopec have completed a joint feasibility study and taken the next steps to establish a world-scale isononanol (INA) plant at Maoming, China. The companies plan to form a 50-50 joint venture, BASF MPCC, to carry out the project. Production is expected to begin in mid-2015. The jv will integrate the INA plant into the existing Maoming Petrochemical Corp. (MPCC) manufacturing complex, allowing for a comprehensive energy management system and the minimization of water use, emissions, and waste.
