Chemical Week Magazine :: New Construction Projects BASF Builds DHDPS Plant; Ups Polyacetal Capacity1:40 PM MDT | July 30, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff BASF says it has started construction of a 6,000-m.t./year dihydroxy diphenyl sulfone (DHDPS) plant at Ludwigshafen. DHDPS is a feedstock for manufacturing a “select high-performance plastic,” BASF says. The plastic, also produced at Ludwigshafen, is used in the reflectors of automobile headlights, as well as in the coolant and oil circulation systems of engines, and in electrical applications, the company says. The planned DHDPS unit will allow BASF to eliminate purchases of DHDPS from outside sources, when the unit comes online in mid-2008... This information is only available to Chemical Week subscribers.
