Asahi Kasei to double spunbond nonwovens capacity in Thailand

Asahi Kasei says that its Asahi Kasei Fibers (AKF; Osaka) subsidiary will invest about ¥5 billion ($49 million) to expand production capacity for polypropylene spunbond nonwoven fabric in Thailand. The company’s Thailand spunbond subsidiary will add a production line with 20,000 m.t./year of capacity at its facility in the Saha industrial park, at Sriracha. The new production line will double the subsidiary’s capacity for spunbond nonwovens, to 40,000 m.t./year. It is expected to become operational in November 2015. AKF holds a 90% stake in the Thailand...
