AkzoNobel to hike MCA capacity at Delfzijl, Netherlands

AkzoNobel says it will increase capacity for monochloroacetic acid (MCA) solution at Delfzijl, Netherlands, by 15,000 m.t./year, raising total MCA capacity at the site to about 115,000 m.t./year. The start-up of the new capacity is scheduled for 2014. The project â€świll address bottlenecks in the current supply chain of our Delfzijl plant,â€ť says JĂĽrgen Baune, general manager/MCA at AkzoNobel. â€śAlthough market growth for MCA in Europe is more or less flat, this capacity increase will help us to address the growing demand of those customers who apply MCA...
