Chemical Week Magazine :: New Construction Projects AkzoNobel to Double Dimethylether Output at Rotterdam7:14 AM MST | February 10, 2012 AkzoNobel’s industrial chemicals division has announced plans to more than double capacity for dimethylether (DME) at its Rotterdam site. The project will raise DME capacity from 20,000 m.t./year, to 45,000 m.t./year by the fourth quarter of this year. “Our investment demonstrates our strong commitment to AkzoNobel’s sustainable growth strategy and will reinforce our leading position in the European DME market,” says Ton Pichel, manager of AkzoNobel’s DME business.
