Russian firm NKNK to begin constructing cracker project next year

Nizhnekamskneftekhim (NKNK; Nizhnekamsk, Russia), one of Russiaâ€™s leading petrochemicals firms, plans to begin constructing a previously announced petrochemical complex next year, according to Rustam Minnikhanov, president of the Tatarstan Republic, home of NKNK. Minnikhanovâ€™s announcement was made recently in his annual address to the republicâ€™s parliament. The complex will be designed to produce 1 million m.t./year of ethylene. Lummus, a subsidiary of CB&I, previously concluded a front-end engineering and design contract for the olefins facility...
