...Expands Hydroquinone Manufacturing Capacity in Japan

Mitsui Chemicals says it will increase production capacity for hydroquinone by 1,000 m.t./year, to 12,500 m.t./year at the company’s site at Iwakuni, Japan. The expansion is expected to be completed by June 2013. Demand for hydroquinone, which is used mainly as a polymerization inhibitor, as an antioxidant ingredient for rubbers, and as a pigment, has increased significantly worldwide and particularly in Asia.
