Lotte Chemical details US, other petchem investments

Lotte Chemical (Seoul), South Korea’s third-largest producer of petrochemicals, trailing Hanwha Chemical and LG Chem, says that its joint venture steam cracker project in Louisiana with Axiall is expected onstream at the end of 2018. Speaking exclusively to CW on the sidelines of the 2015 Asia Petrochemical Industry Conference conference, held 7–8 May in Seoul, Soo Young Huh, president and CEO of Lotte Chemical, said that following the signing of an agreement to form Lotte Axiall Chemical, a 50-50 jv, to build the 1-million m.t./year ethane cracker at Lake Charles, LA, the companies have awarded the technology contract to Lummus, a unit of CB&I....
