Chemical Week Magazine :: Departments :: Vital Statistics Manufacturing Slows12:45 PM MST | December 14, 2007 | Arnold Pearlman Growth in the manufacturing sector slowed significantly in 2007, compared to “reasonably strong” growth over the last three years, analysts say. On a year-to-date basis, manufacturing output has advanced 2.1% so far, and is currently 0.7% below the peak reached in July. That compares to growth of 3.4% in 2006 and 4.4% in 2005. Production of durable goods is running 2.4% ahead of last year, however, spurred by strong expansions in the aerospace and electrical equipment sectors.
