Production in the industrial manufacturing sector advanced 0.2% in June, although higher raw material costs and slowing demand are still taking a toll on profits, says a recent report from the Institute for Supply Management (ISM; Tempe, AZ). Prices of several chemical commodities including acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, caustic soda, polypropylene resins, and titanium dioxide rose in June.
