The leading indicator for the chemical industry fell 0.4% in June, following ten consecutive months of advances. All indicator components weakened in the most recent calculation. The average chemical industry stock price was down in May, in contrast to the previous seven months when stock prices rose. Industrial production in the chemical process industries dropped 0.5% in May.
