The leading indicator for the chemical industry rose 1.2% in February, the seventh consecutive monthly advance. Output in the chemical industry has also been growing for all but one of the past seven months. The current momentum indicates a continued rise in chemicals production levels for at least the next few months, analysts say. The gain in the indicator was fueled by increases in almost all components, including the average chemical industry stock price.
