Expansion Could Ease H2O2 Tightness

Arkema has brought onstream its 20,000-m.t./year hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) expansion at Becancour, PQ, upping capacity at the plant to 93,000 m.t./year (CW, Aug. 3, 2005, p. 13). The expansion boosts Arkema’s total H2O2 capacity in North America to 163,000 m.t./year, about 20% of the North American market. The additional capacity, which accounts for 2.5% of the market, could provide some relief to tight H2O2 supply, producers and analysts say.
