Arkema Restructures French Site

Arkema says it plans to cut 28 jobs as part of a restructuring at the company’s Chantonnay, France production site. Soveplast, a subsidiary of Arkema’s Alphacan pipes and profiles business, operates the site. Soveplast makes polyvinyl chloride profiles for the manufacture of window shutters and blinds, and garage doors. The Chantonnay site’s “manufacturing costs can no longer be passed on to sales prices in today’s highly competitive markets,” Arkema says.
