Big gains in feedstocks were made last week as soaring crude oil prices pushed prices higher in North America. Spot naphtha gained about 13 cts/gal, ethane rose 3 cts/gal, and propane and butane each gained 10 cts/gal. Ethylene gained 1.5 cts/lb, but other olefins remained unchanged. June butadiene contracts are ongoing, and several producers have nominated price increases. A gain of about 4 cts/lb is expected, market players say. Aromatics were varied, market watchers say.
